A soccer
stadium has existed on the present site since 1933 when
the (then-named) Neckar-Stadion was first built. The ground
is home to VfB Stuttgart of the Bundesliga. Total costs
for the redevelopment and renovation of the stadium are
estimated at 41-56 million Euros.
Along with Berlin and Nürnburg, Stuttgart is one of
the three stadia for World Cup 2006 to incorporate a running
track.
