Joe
Cole has reaffirmed his commitment to West Ham and insists
he and his team-mates are doing their utmost to transform
the club's fortunes.
The
England midfielder says he has no intention of leaving
the beleaguered Hammers in their current predicament,
and that he is willing to help the club battle against
the threat of relegation.
"I am fully committed to the West Ham cause and
I am a West Ham player for as long as West Ham want
me," Cole said.
Cole says it is imperative that the team pulls together
in search of that elusive first Premiership win this
season.
Cole added: "You have to understand that now
we are at the bottom, more so than ever, you shouldn't
believe what you read in the papers.
"They are out to make things out of nothing at
the moment - trouble-making - so we have to stay strong,
pull together, and we will get through it."
Glenn Roeder's men meet cross capital rivals Chelsea
this weekend, and Cole says the players are determined
to get the first victory on the board and climb away
from the drop zone.
He said: "Nobody likes to be there but I can
assure everybody that we are trying hard and putting
everything in.
"Not one person is shirking responsibility and
we are looking to push ourselves up the table from
now - the only way is up," he told the club's
website.
