The FA have stated that the suspensions will be served
from November 17, and this could threaten to undermine
Arsenal's bid to regain the Premiership title from fierce
rivals United as several key names will be missing from
action.
Lauren
received the harshest punishment - a four-game ban
- for his involvement in the fracas, as he was seen
to clash with Ruud van Nistelrooy and Quinton Fortune
during the Old Trafford clash. A £40,000 fine
has also been handed out to the Cameroon full back.
Martin
Keown, whom many tipped to get the most severe sanctions,
collects a three-match suspension and a £20,000
fine after his extraordinary antics at the final whistle
as he hounded van Nistelrooy.
Ray
Parlour picks up a one-match ban, and a £10,000
fine, while Patrick Vieira, who was sent off in the
fixture, also misses one game, and receives a £20,000
fine for failing to leave the field of play following
the dismissal.
Ashley
Cole was not suspended, but has been reprimanded and
warned to his future conduct after collecting a £10,000
fine.
Arsenal
issued a detailed apology for the conduct of their
players, and said they were considering their position
with regards to responding to the verdicts.
