Raul Tamudo's agent is still waiting for Sunderland to open talks
over the Spanish striker.
Spanish sources claim The Black Cats have had an £8million
bid turned down by Espanyol, who are looking for nearer £11million
for the 24-year-old.
Tamudo grabbed 15 goals in 35 games for the Barcelona-based club
last term, and he recently declared he had every intention of seeing
out a long-term contract at the Montjuic Stadium.
But Espanyol are in dire straits financially, and are believed to
be ready to sell their prize asset - at the right price.
However, the player's agent, Tomas Duran, has dismissed suggestions
that a fee has been agreed.
"There is no change in Tamudo's situation yet - Sunderland
are interested in him but no deal has been done," he said.
