Nicolas Anelka has had his first set of bad words for his Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan after being stopped from playing in a charity match.
Anelka wanted to join his other French teammates at a charity match in France. But Kevin Keegan did not allow the French striker to go. It was a charity match to raise money for the people affected in the recent flood problems in France.
Anelka, 23, said: "Frankly, that p***es me off. Manchester United's Laurent Blanc was organising it and I told him I would be there.
"But the coach Keegan asked me not to go. I would like to say sorry to Laurent, to everyone else who organised the game, the people in south-eastern France who suffered in the floods and the French national team members.
"I said 'yes' to the idea of the game. It was a rare chance for footballers to show they don't just think of themselves.
"But it did not take the interests of the players' clubs into consideration.
"I can understand the club's position. But I have got the hump all the same."
