Beckham Set To Start Against Leicester
Tue 5th November 2002, 17:14

Beckham is set to start for Manchester United in their current League cup clash against Leicester City even though he has had recent security scare.

Sir Alex wants Beckham to play in the game tonight and the Manchester United manager thinks it will benefit David Beckham

"If we felt it was necessary for him to take a break then we would allow him to do so," said Ferguson.

"But at the moment things seem to be under control and the police have done their jobs, so there is no danger.
"The events of the past two days have been quite dramatic and of great concern but I don't think resting him is the thing to do.

Sir Alex Ferguson will put out a strong team against Leicester in the Worthington Cup.

I will be playing a mixture of first-team and reserves," said Ferguson.

"We could have played an entire reserve team but I am looking at things a little differently because we want to show the right spirit."
