Newcastle still on Kleberson's trail
Sat 1st February 2003, 09:51

Newcastle United have further energised their interest in signing Brazilian World Cup winner Kleberson before the transfer window closes.

The Magpies who were very close to completing the signing of Jonathan Woodgate, have enliven their interest to also sign the Brazilian international midfielder.

Kleberson is currently playing for Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense.

On the other hand, it was noticed that the Tynesiders are ready to give out £9 million for Leeds United Jonathan Woodgate.

But with the transfer window expected to close today, the Magpies who are currently placed 2nd in the league table behind defending champions Arsenal will be hoping everything works out as planned.
