Gudjonsson finally joins Villa
Tue 21st January 2003, 12:58

Real Betis player Joey Gudjonsson has finally completed his move to Premiership side Aston Villa on a loan deal that will keep him in Villa Park for the rest of the season.

Gudjonsson now becomes Graham Taylor's first signing since the transfer window reopened in January 1.

The transfer window is expected to close in February 1.

Gudjonsson became the most expensive Icelandic player ever when he joined Betis for £5 million, but he had hardly played for the club this season.

Gudjonsson stated in Villa's official website that he would love to play in the centre of the midfield. And that he also like to tackle and win the ball.

Gudjonsson further admitted that he is ready to prove himself to Taylor that he is worthy for the move to Villa Park.
