Liverpool rekindle winning flame
Mon 20th January 2003, 14:28

Liverpool have recently rekindled the winning flame following their 1-0 win at Southampton, thanks to the only goal from forward Emile Heskey.

The victory also saw a termination of the run of 11 games without a win.
There is no doubt that the happiest manager in the weekend was Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier, as he was formerly under-pressure before his side's victory.

Houllier showed his full contentment with the result and didn't seize to shower praises on his player, especially the goal-hero Heskey.

Liverpool tried as much as possible to stop high-fighting James Beattie from scoring.

However, Southampton boss Gordon Strachan stated that the better team won and he didn't contradict the effort of his players.
