United to wait if they want Marseille's Buyten
Fri 17th January 2003, 12:33

Premiership giants Manchester United will have no other option but to wait if they want buy Olympic Marseille player Daniel van Buyten.

This is because Marseille manager Alain Perrin has overtly insisted that he needs the 24-year-old Belgian international for the rest of the season.

Perrin further stated that his intention to keep Buyten was due to the fact that he doesn't want to break the coherence in his team.

Buyten has disclosed his willingness to join the Red Devils and that he is happy a big club like United is after him.

However, it is alleged that Marseille are to placing £8m for the centre-back, 1m more than what they paid to buy him from Standard Liege in Belgium.
