Saints set to sign Arias
Wed 8th January 2003, 14:22

Southampton are keen and set to sign Velez Sarsfield player Frederico Arias, as the reopening of the transfer market lasts.

On the other hand, the Saints have not disclosed any specific fee.

The Argentine international is alleged to have agreed the terms of a three-year deal with the Premiership side.

Aria, 23, who is a left-footed winger, is known for his quick run through the wing and can operate on either the left or right flank.

Saints manager Gordon Strachan disclosed that since Arias can play on either flank, it is a good balance for the squad.

Arias' nickname is Torpedo.
