Premiership bottom-table strugglers West Ham have showed interest in Leeds United midfielder Lee Bowyer, while the reopening of the transfer market lasts.
Although West Ham boss Glenn Roeder had previously disclosed that signing a striker is his topmost priority with respect to the club's low goal scoring ability this season.
Bowyer's contract at Leeds expires in the summer, and he had recently turned down a loan move to Birmingham last week. This made West Ham's managing director Paul Aldridge to admit possible contract of the 26-year-old midfielder.
Aldridge further disclosed that, despite claims that Roeder is interested in a striker, it doesn't means that they aren't interested in a quality player like Bowyer
