Liverpool Crash Against Valencia

Valencia beat Liverpool 1-0 in a hot game at Anfield. Francisco Rufete goal means Liverpool have still not qualified for the next stages of the champion’s league.

Valencia beat Liverpool 6 weeks ago with a fantastic display of football. Once again Valencia showed they are the stronger team after another deserving performance.

Rufete had a shot, which deflected of Liverpool captain Sami Hyypia and beat Jerzy Dudek. That was the only goal of the game which gave Valencia a win and finish top of there group.

Liverpool are likely to require a win away to Basle in two weeks time. The other group game between Basle and Spartak Moscow was postponed.

Michael Owen did have 2 great chances for Liverpool as the English leaders did create a few chances but the Valencia midfield was very strong and Canizares was in top form.

Liverpool: Dudek, Riise, Traore, Hyypia, Carragher, Murphy, Hamann, Diao, Gerrard, Heskey, Owen.
