Middlesbrough 1 Chelsea 1
Sun 15th December 2002, 16:45

Middlesbrough held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw to stubbornly deny them an opportunity of topping the Premiership table.

It was a highly contented match but with a lonely score line.

Geremi started the quest for a draw through a perfectly taken free kick in the 32nd minute.

This goal raised the fighting spirit of the visitors and just ten minutes later, John Terry equalised to secure a point for the Blues hence sending them to the 3rd position in the table.

Credits were given to Boro for absolutely putting a strong fight against defensive wizards Chelsea.

The denying of the Blues the chance of topping the Premiership table is nothing to go by for their hard work thus praises from manager Claudio Ranieri to his boys.
