Everton 1 Chelsea 3
Sun 8th December 2002, 18:17

It was a surprising humiliation of Everton as they tackle Claudio Ranieri's Chelsea at Goodison.

It was really a disaster as David Unsworth was given a red card at injury time to create more appealing thoughts for Everton.

Mario Stanic started scoring in just 5 minutes into the game with a follow-up from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink in the 32nd minute to completely rap up the points to the Blues.

However Gary Naysmith provided a consolation in just less than 2 minutes to go but that couldn't take Everton anywhere.

When there were elaborations on Everton's equaliser, Frank Lampard brilliantly made it three to quickly push Chelsea to 2nd in the table, two points behind leaders Arsenal.

This match made it the first loss to Everton at Goodison and they are ready to resume their winning streak in subsequent matches.

But for Claudio Ranieri, it was a great game and he admitted his contentment with the game.
