Neville: We need a Unbeaten Run
Tue 29th October 2002, 12:40

Phil Neville has said Manchester United need a unbeaten run and beat teams like Liverpool and Arsenal to challenge for the title.

He fears if Manchester United don’t get an unbeaten run the title race could be over by Christmas.

Neville said: "We simply cannot stand any more slip-ups. We have Arsenal and Liverpool coming up and cannot afford even to draw one of those games. We have to win them.

"But we must start a run before then.

"Eight points is just too big a gap at this stage of the season. We have to get that down to two or three. Then we will have Roy Keane and Nicky Butt back, while Ruud van Nistelrooy will also have returned from injury."

Manchester United tonight play Maccabi Haifa in the champions league but they have qualified for the next round of the champions league so Sir Alex Ferguson looks set to put out a weakened team.
