Babayaro may escape ban
Tue 26th November 2002, 18:12

The escapement of Chelsea from a 1-0 defeat to force Bolton to a 1-1 draw was made a fantasy by the red card giving to Celestine Babayaro.

Chelsea are now planning a boosted appeal that will see the Nigerian left full back escaping ban.

Babayaro was sent off for hitting Bolton’s player Youri Djorkaeff on the face with his elbow. Chelsea are now demanding a TV replay from Bolton in order to proceed in the bid to clear the name of the Nigerian defender.

Chelsea are prospecting the fact that Babayaro may miss crucial encounters with both Everton in the Worthington Cup and Middlesbrough in the Premiership if he is not pardoned.
