Blanc to miss encounter with Basle
Mon 25th November 2002, 19:28

Laurent Blanc has been ruled out of Manchester United's Champions league encounter with Basle.

The Frenchman sustained a calf injury in United's 5-3 humiliation of Newcastle on Saturday.

This unwanted injury as amounted to seven of United's players that will miss the encounter with Basle.

United's defense which was a cause for alarm in Saturday's match is not getting better as they now have two of their top defenders down with injury with the inclusion of Blanc.

Alex Ferguson now has a lot of work to do in order to calibrate United's defense as both Ferdinand and Neville are also out.
Honestly, he will have to rely on West Brown and the other youngsters in the United squad.
