FA disallows request on Anelka’s ban
Thu 21st November 2002, 15:32

The sudden demand for Anelka’s ban from the French association has been completely sidelined by the FA.

The illustration from the FA with respect to the FIFA’s regulation that a player must be informed at least 15 days before a match, made things problematic for the French counterparts.

The French striker, Nicholas Anelka refused to honour an invitation from the French coach two days before their match with Yugoslavia due to some personal reasons as disclosed by him.

Due to the said FIFA regulation, the FA has admitted that they have no capability to ban Nicholas Anelka unless FIFA’s intervention.

The £13 worth striker will be ready to feature for Manchester City’s in their away match to Middlesborough this weekend.
