FA Launch Inquiry Into Riverside incident
Tue 29th October 2002, 12:25

The Fa has decided to launch an inquiry into the clash between Leeds United Nicky Barmby and Middlesbrough midfielder George Boateng.

The Dutchman accused Nick Barmby of racist abuse when Leeds United and Middlesbrough met on Saturday. Nick Barmby has denied angrily he abused the Middlesbrough midfielder.
An FA statement confirmed: "In addition to match officials' reports, video evidence will be considered. FA officials will also be interviewing key individuals involved."

The Fa will use video evidence to decide any disciplinary action.

Boateng also will be under caution after he manhandled the linesman and could be set for a possible match ban and a fine.
