Bruce: Use Commen Sense
Mon 28th October 2002, 20:14

Birmingham Boss Steve Bruce has told Mark to simply use common sense over the club v country row. Wales are due to travel to Azerbaijan for a European Championship qualifier on November 20, and Wales have invoked the four-day FIFA rule.

That means Savage must meet up with his Welsh teammates by 3pm on the previous day fourth day, which is Sunday - exactly the time, the Blues kick-off against Fulham.

Birmingham are ready to talk to Fulham to maybe having the game brought to a mid day kick off.

Bruce said: 'we haven't heard anything yet, but what we need is a bit of dialogue and common sense with the whole situation.

'We can get Robbie to the hotel, and the reason that we've had to change the game to the Sunday is because Fulham are playing in the UEFA Cup on the previous Thursday.

Mark Hughes once a fellow Manchester United teammate with Steve Bruce wants the Wales squad to meet up four days before an important European championship qualifier.
