Shearer escapes further punishment

Newcastle skipper Alan Shearer has escaped further punishment after been given a Champions league ban.
The former England international was compelled to be charged after an alleged elbowing of Fabio Cannavaro in Newcastle's Champions league tie with Inter Milan.
Another Newcastle forward, Craig Bellamy who was given a red card in the same match after a clash with Marco Materazzi was fined an estimated amount of £30,000 and he is also bound to miss the trip to Nou Camp against Spanish giants, Barcelona.
But for Shearer, it has been admitted that there is no further punishment for him after some due considerations from the UEFA disciplinary committee.
