Roeder accuses officials
Submitted By Ndubuisi on Sunday 22nd December 2002

West Ham United boss Glenn Roeder has accused match officials for his side's 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers thus denying them their first home win since this season.

A victory for West Ham could have pushed them slightly away from the bottom of the table but were shorn of by Michael Ricketts' 64th minute equaliser.

Replays from television showed that Ricketts was not offside when he scored and there were implications that Ricketts used his hands to gain advantage of the ball before scoring, nevertheless the goal was not disallowed.

Roeder also blamed the officials for a penalty that wasn't given to them after captain Joe Cole went down in the box in the 76th minute following a harsh tackle.

Consequently, Roeder's words showed his angriness with the officials saying that they are not accountable since they can't do their job accurately.
