Premiership Match Report News
Manchester City 2 Bolton 0
Submitted By Ndubuisi on Sunday 1st December 2002

It was a day of recognition as Manchester City moved away from the relegation zone after defeating their visitors Bolton 2-0.

Bolton started the match with a complete midfield consciousness and attention with several skills and equilibriums from Jay-Jay Okocha.

However, City took the lead in the 24th minute after Kevin Horlock headed home from Berkovic's left wing cross.

The game was still apparently balanced and Bolton continued pressure from the midfield that saw Okocha and Djorkaeff causing nightmares for the Maine Road boys.

The second half predictably saw the lucky team snatch another goal after a good lay up from Anelka to Berkovic and he wasted no time to stick the ball into Bolton's goal.

Okocha's shot in just less than 10 minutes to go was completely stopped by Schmeichel and this rounded up the day for Bolton.
