Bosnich to take time out
Submitted By Sandeep on Wednesday 13th November 2002

Chelsea goalkeeper Mark Bosnich has admitted to a medical facility after being diagnosed with clinical depression.

The 30-year-old has been amidst rumours of failed drug tests for a number of weeks and these stories seem to have all been too much for Chelsea player.

His management company released a stated to prevent any more unwanted speculation over his whereabouts following the drug allegations.

"Mark Bosnich has been diagnosed as suffering from severe clinical depression," said the SEM statement.

"On medical advice he was today admitted to a depression unit of a medical facility to obtain treatment for that depression. "

It would not usually be appropriate to release this type of information, which is private in nature, but it has been decided to do so on this occasion to prevent speculation.

"Mark thanks the press for their support at this difficult time and asks in the circumstances that further information as to his treatment and whereabouts should remain private."

Bosnich is one of the players at the top of the wage bill although he plays no part in Claudio Ranieri's first team and it looks like he never will. The rumours surrounding him now and his depression will put off any team who can offer him first team football so it could this be Bosnich's gloomy way out of football?
