Middlesbrough's home game with Newcastle United, which was scheduled to hold on Saturday February 1, has been rendered null and void.
Due to the unfavourable and harsh weather conditions in the North East of England, the game was cancelled and it will be scheduled for another day when the weather will be good enough to entertain a Barclaycard Premiership match.
Newcastle are currently placed second in the table behind leaders and defending champions Arsenal, hence there are also on the race for the title.
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough who were recently criticised for having problems with away games are still battling on-and-off in the middle-of-the-table to secure themselves a better position.
This was an all-important game for Boro to climb up the table, but due to restraints from the weather, the game with Bobby Robson's boys was cancelled for safety reasons.
