Birmingham City have been fined £25,000 by the English FA due to pitch attack by fans during September's tie with Aston Villa at St. Andrews.
It was alleged that fans and supporters came onto the pitch with respect to each three goals from Birmingham's win. Consequently, the club pleaded guilty to all charges for failure to protect both players and match officials and also failure to control intrusions on to the pitch.
The intrusion of fans onto the pitch saw Aston Villa goalkeeper Peter Enckelman been confronted by one of the fans and thus the alleged fan was sentenced to four months in jail.
The said fine serves as an alternative for the expected deduction of points and accordingly Birmingham were also warned against future conduct.
