Beattie renews contract

Southampton striker James Beattie has taken the first step towards extending his career at the club after signing a new deal that will keep him at St Mary's till 2006.
Beattie has currently scored 16 Premiership goals for this season.
Due to Beattie's recent form, he has been tipped to be included in Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad that will face Australia next week in a friendly encounter.
The Saints who are curiously seeking for a place in Europe will be happy that their goal-scoring maestro has opted for them till 2006.
The Saints are currently placed seventh in the English Premiership table. |
