Anderton close to signing a new deal

Tottenham Hotspur player Darren Anderton is close to signing a new contract with the club that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2005.
Anderton's current contract at Spurs expires in 2004.
Anderton currently has 331 games for Spurs to his advantage and he is anxious to lengthen his career at the club.
Perhaps, the England international midfielder want to stay at White Hart Lane in order to help the club with their quest for a better position in the table. That's why he didn't leave Spurs in the summer after been linked with Leeds United.
Meanwhile, Spurs are still in a reasonable position in the table, despite their 2-2 draw against an outstanding Claudio Ranieri's Chelsea.
