Liechtenstein v England 17:30
In a game with England supposedly at full strength, they could only manage two against Liechtenstein. It was a scrappy and rather tedious match, but nevertheless, goals from Michael Owen and a freekick from David Beckham sealed it.

A 70th minute goal from Lee Wilkie sealed a win for Scotland to put them top of their group and on course for a Euro 2004 place. Scotland were good in the first half but let things slip in the second, with a goal from Eider Gudjohnsson equalling Miller's early goal, but Wilkie managed to get the 3 points 25 minutes later.

A late winner by Gary Doherty sealed 3 well needed points for Ireland's faultering national side. Damien Duff gave Ireland the lead before it was equalised by Georgia . Controversy arose in the match when Sunderland's Kevin Kilbane was hit in the arm by a 6" knife. Georgia got a free kick for it, and Kilbane was shook up.

In a stunning match at the Millennium Stadium, Wales tore apart the Azerbaijan team. Wales, the big improvers of this qualifiying campaign, were simply too good for the other side. Goals from Bellamy, Speed, Hartson and Giggs made it a very good match and extremely impressive performance.
