Everton consolidated their position in the table with a lone-goal victory over Blackburn Rovers, thanks to Kevin Campbell’s first half strike.

Blackburn Rovers should pay the cost for embellishment, there is no doubt that concentration and strong defending ensured Everton the victory.

There were chances upon chances for both teams, as both goalkeepers weren’t given a break or short time of relief.

In the 19th minute, the luckier team of the two had the better chance; Carsley’s cross found Campell unmarked, the Everton captain unmistakably wasted no time, as he fired a low shot in the opponent’s goal.
Blackburn tried to retaliate in which one of their somewhat better chance was putrefied by the magnificent Nigerian defender, Joseph Yobo.

The second half also produced constant chances but Blackburn Rovers weren’t lucky to grab home an equaliser.

In what should had been an equaliser came in the stoppage time from Thompson and Cole but both just couldn’t find the net.

This Everton away win made it a total of five successful Premiership win in a row for the Merseysiders.
